Client Groups
Organize HubSpot portals by client for agency teams managing multiple accounts.
Agency-tier users can organize their HubSpot portals into client groups — lightweight containers that let you filter and manage portals by client.
Overview
When you're managing 5, 10, or 50+ client portals, a flat list gets unwieldy fast. Client groups solve this by letting you:
- Group portals by client with a name and brand color
- Filter the sidebar to focus on one client at a time
- Visually distinguish clients with color-coded sections on the Portals page
- Auto-assign new portals to the active client group when connecting via OAuth
Creating a client group
- Navigate to Settings > Clients
- Click Add Client
- Enter the client name
- Choose a brand color (preset palette or custom hex)
- Optionally upload a logo (max 2MB)
- Click Create
Assigning portals to a client group
From the Portals page
- Find the portal you want to assign
- Click the three-dot menu on the portal card
- Select the client group name from the list
- The portal moves to that group's section immediately
Automatically on connect
If you have a client group selected in the sidebar when you connect a new HubSpot portal, it's automatically assigned to that group.
Removing from a group
Use the same three-dot menu and click Remove from group. The portal moves to the "Ungrouped" section.
Using the client group picker
The client group picker appears in the sidebar between the organization switcher and the portal switcher. It's only visible for Agency-tier users.
- All Clients — shows all portals across all groups
- Select a group — filters the portal switcher and Portals page to show only that group's portals
- Manage Clients — links to Settings > Clients
Editing and deleting client groups
From Settings > Clients:
- Click the pencil icon to edit a group's name, color, or logo
- Click the trash icon to delete a group (Admin only)
Deleting a group does not delete its portals — they become ungrouped.
Plan requirements
Client groups are available exclusively on the Agency plan.
